Folding cartons can have a variety of functions. At first glance they simply appear to show the product and the name of the brand and act as a container. Although this is true, it does more. At times it acts as a hanging display when the package is placed on a peg hook. Other times it may contain a folding door which can both reveal the product in another window and also include more information about the product on the inside of the door.

In some cases the carton acts a container for an insert tray and cover which holds the product. For this case, the folding carton will usually have a window to showcase the tray.
In constructing the carton we have to understand the steps necessary to manufacture the piece. Knowledge of folding machines, gluers and die cutters is essential to ensure efficient and affordable manufacturing processes.
Last, we must include the challenge of creating sustainable solutions which includes recyclable materials that or those already recycled that will work well in the stream of material life.
